Need Flex Migration Help?
- Adobe ends Flash player support in 2020
- Flex apps will no longer function
- We can help migrate your app
Just finished watching the Tech Wednesday presentation for what is being called the Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3, and all I can do is share some of the quotes heard in the room:
“… I actually have goosebumps.”
and, my absolute favorite:
“holy mother of god.”
Just about everything difficult or hacky or “workaround-y” involved in integration of Flash and Flex is about to be completely erased. UIMovieClip… Flex states mapping to Flash frame labels… states within skins.
The integration between Flash and Flex is seamless, the ease with which one can include Flash in your Flex projects is as simple as it gets (just add the SWC to your project, and it shows up in code hinting), and a lot more that just had my jaw hanging open.
If you didn’t see the presentation, you won’t have long to wait to check it out for yourself. The Component Kit will be available at http://labs.adobe.com on Monday. I encourage everyone to get a hold of it, play with it, and experience for yourself the sheer awesomeness.
