All rich Internet technologies, and in particular Adobe Flex, allow for rich application development. For a developer to have a true working command of these tools requires a thorough understanding of the framework underneath, an understanding that goes beyond what is available through training courses and can only be obtained through experience or, more efficiently and effectively, through targeted, small-group mentoring.
For your developers who are working with Flex and are having difficulty even though they have completed traditional training programs, our mentoring is powerful. Through a combination of code review, discussions with your team, and assessment of your current project, we create customized lessons that show your developers how to apply the potential of Flex.
Just as no two projects are the same, no two mentoring session are the same. Every curriculum is created just-in-time to bridge the gap between what the developers already know and what they need to know to accomplish the task at hand.
This level of involvement takes time. Every developer team, including our own team at Digital Primates, needs mid-course corrections to keep on track. After the initial mentoring engagement, we typically return to clients periodically to reinforce the learning and redirect the project away from pitfalls and dead ends.
We nudge, we suggest, we recommend. Sometimes we even have to create a new approach, which extends everyone’s knowledge. It can get intense but our clients value the process because they see progress. As a result of our mentoring, your developers will become more self-sufficient, better at what they do.
