FLEX DEVELOPER

Do you want to work with a company that can send the Flex team into cardiac arrest? How about a company building applications that scare the Flex 3 profiler into submission?

We here at Digital Primates are known for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with the Flex framework. Our client list is growing in stature and size and we need developers to join our team just outside of Chicago and help keep pace. FLEX DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

We're looking for interns to join one of our teams working in Flex, Adobe’s development framework for creating rich Internet applications. Our award-winning work includes applications that deliver streaming video, coordinate nationwide product rollouts, and run hospitals around the world.

What you want:

  • Hands-on development experience with real-world projects
  • To work in an environment where we take our coding as seriously as we take our Wii Sports tournaments

Who we need:

  • You soak up knowledge like a sponge
  • You aren’t afraid to ask questions to understand a problem or a new concept
  • You get into a “zone” but can switch tasks easily and effectively
  • You take pride in your code and defend it from all comers

What else we’d like:

  • Work towards a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns
  • Experience with Java, C++/C#, or Flex/ActionScript 3

What you’ll be doing:

  • Joining one of our development teams working on large-scale RIAs using Adobe Flex
  • Hunting down bugs and solving problems for clients
  • Implementing thorough unit, integration, and functional testing procedures
  • Gaining valuable experience in a healthy and growing job market

Our offices just outside of Chicago.

UX/UI DESIGNER

We are looking for an experience and interface designer to work on our upcoming projects. The designer will research user needs and business requirements along with one of our project managers, generate wireframes and prototypes for review with client stakeholders, create a comprehensive visual design for each application, and coordinate with our programmers to facilitate the development of the UI design.

Need to have:

  • Degree in design or communication or the equivalent experience
  • Design portfolio with an emphasis on application and user-interface design
  • Proficient in using Adobe design products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally to meet and work onsite at client offices

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience developing Flash or Flex-based applications
  • Experience working in a product development environment with business, technical, and product management stakeholders
  • Experience redesigning an existing user interface
