New Layout — like it? hate it? what do you think?

After 2+ years of the same layout here, I'm being dragged kicking and screaming into a new design.  The folks at blog city (who ultimately host this blog), have upgraded their software.  Needless to say, my old design couldnt be automatically migrated, so, with a minimum of fuss, I've created this new look and feel.   Please leave a comment and let me know what you think about this design in relation to the old one.  Is it better, worse, other?  any thoughts appreciated.

 thanks.  jeff

Looks as good in 6.0 as in FF

Is this better for you? It seems some of the google stuff was getting in the way on IE 6 (I only had IE7, FireFox and Opera available for testing, but have now tested on Ie6 as well.) Any comments from mac users? I dont have one of those lying around.

Looks great in ff, but you might want to check it in IE 6.0, where it jumps all over the place.

it sucks… just like the last one… get a proper designer to do it (if you’re concerned about it) and test it in FF (on mac, at least, gives a “jumpy” bar below the tab bar at the top)… Honestly, this one looks like a 10 years old or smth…

    Much Better!!!!

Thanks for the feedback Al, I’ve tweaked the google colors a bit (its amazing what you find when you start looking at the options ). Are these a bit less jarring?

Heh. We just did a redesign too. You never know how people are going to react.

The only issue I have with your new layout is all of the Google inserts are the wrong color and are pretty jarring.

Does the layout think about slight color blindness?
